Hosting the weekend was the luxurious Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach. This iconic hotel was opened in 1954 as one of the first art-deco buildings in Miami and was the place to be seen - home to the Rat Pack and featured in the James Bond film, Goldfinger in the 1960's. With its million-dollar chandeliers, three award-winning restaurants, one of the sexiest spas in the world (let alone Miami), a hopping nightclub frequented by celebs and VIP's, and the hippest pool-side vibe this side of Miami Beach - the Fontainebleau has got it all. The personalized iMacs in each room complete with free internet access are just the cherry on top.

When not downing Klondike bars or frequenting the open bar of endless Corona Extras and Bacardi Torched Cherry cocktails, there was an intro to DJ-ing with Scratch DJ Academy; a live poolside concert featuring the lovely Kat DeLuna; VIP tours at Jungle Island to get up-close-and-personal with its furry residents; and my personal fave - yoga on the beach and complimentary backrubs by Equinox Fitness Club - the hottest fitness club in Miami - rumoured to be frequented by Hillary Swank, Matt Damon, and Sean "Diddy" Combs himself.
After much-needed siestas in the late afternoons, evenings held more thrills in store for Thrillist weekend patrons, including samplings from Gotham Steak, Hakkasan, Scarpetta, and Solo; an incredible VIP party at LIV nightclub just visited by Chris Brown just days before; and a killer rooftop party at Red, The Steakhouse that had an incredible view of South Beach.
And then there was the impromptu pool parties at midnight. . .
