WestJet
The New Guardian Fare Program

WestJet Guardian FareWestJet has introduced a new Guardian Fare to replace its Unaccompanied Minor Program. The new fare allows parents or guardians to escort and accompany their children or minors (11 years old and younger) at a reduced rate. The escort or guardian accompanies the child to the desired destination and is required to return immediately to the city of origin.

WestJet president and CEO, Sean Durfy comments: "WestJet takes every precaution within our control to ensure that our guests, including our littlest guests, have a safe experience. . . we have implemented a new program that minimizes risk and ultimately enables our young guests to get to their destination more safely."

The Guadian Fare allows a guardian to receive a 50% fare reduction on the entire booking cost. The guardian must be 18 years of age or older, should be assigned at the time of booking and is responsible for the transportation of the child that they are accompanying.

The fare is valid only for one person travelling with the child or children and guardians must return to their city of origin within 24 hours of the original flight. Two different guardians or escorts can be assigned as guardians at the time of travel. Children must be 11 years and under.
