In Fall 2007, Azores Express Airlines began to offer a set of new travel packages which will allow North American travelers and tourists to visit the Azores for as low as $699 USD for flight and acommodations.

The Azores are a group of islands (archipelago) in the North Atlantic Ocean. They are an autonomous Portuguese region and lie 1,500 km west from the cost of Lisbon in Portugal, and 1,925 km east from St. John's in Newfoundland, Canada. Bathed by warm ocean currents and moderate winds, the Azores enjoy almost constant good weather. The islands offer a taste of Europe, just 4 hours from Boston, Massachusetts.

The airline, which links North America to the Azores and to Europe, launched a new fly and stay packages in September 2007 that will go until October 2008. Tourists have the option of staying in the best bed and breakfasts, romantic country inns, and historic manors, that the islands have to offer. These new travel packages include airfare from Boston, Massachusetts and 6-days of accommodations, starting at $669 based on double occupancy.

HouseThe new appeal about these packages is that they promote rural areas of the Azores, where tourism was not previously available. This offers a new way to see and experience the Azores, and for the first time ever, visitors can experience the Azores as the locals do. Staying in family-run comfortable country estates (quintas in Portuguese) or bed and breakfasts give tourists a local perspective, and gives travelers an intimate understanding of the natural beauty of the islands.

Azores Express Airlines has had a landing gate at the Boston International Airport for over two decades. Flight times for Azores allow for easy linkage to airlines coming and in and out of New England. For a glimpse of old European style and Portugese living, why not try the Azores for your next vacation.
