The countdown to the inauguration of the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama is underway and travellers who are planning to visit to be �part of history being made' may wish to take advantage of these free and affordable experiences in Washington, DC.

Free & Affordable Inauguration Events and Celebrations in Washington DC this January 2009

1.� Stand on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, where Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his "I Have a Dream" speech and where Marian Anderson performed her historic 1939 Easter concert.

2.� Catch a free concert featuring Aretha Franklin on 19 January at the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage.
