La QuintaHilton Hotels has developed a new style of hotel and has brought its first upscale, residential, all-suite facility to the Palm Springs golf resort marketplace. In the fall of 2007, Hilton's Homewood Suites opened its doors to tourists, golfers, and business travelers in the community of La Quinta, California. The new hotel has 130 suites and is the 204th of the Homewood Suites series to be launched in the United States. The new hotel is being managed by Windsor Hotels for Hilton.

"The brand new building's location here in the rapidly growing Coachella Valley and the city of La Quinta (just outside of Palm Springs), is the ideal market for an upscale, extended-stay hotel like Homewood Suites by Hilton," said general manager, Brad Poncher.

Mr. Poncher went on to explain that this hotel has been designed for the travelers who want to stay put for five or more nights at a time. The Homewood Suites by Hilton is also perfect for short stays and families who need to feel more at home while they are traveling - thanks to the suite-style living quarters offered.

Homewood offers residential-style studios, single bedroom and dual-bedroom suites. All come with fully equipped kitchens, spacious living areas and comfy sleeping quarters - offering ample space to work, relax and entertain. Travelers can cook their own meals while taking advantage of complimentary high speed internet in hotel rooms.

Spanish conquistadores were the first Europeans to establish in the early La Quinta community. It was built as the 5th resting point for stage coaches traveling from Mexico to Los Angeles. La Quinta roughly translates from Spanish into English as "the fifth." The city of La Quinta is nicknamed the Gem of the Desert. The city of 24,000 is located in the Palm Desert, a chip shot away from Palm Springs. It is rated as the leading golf destination in the U.S.

Coachella ValleyThe new Homewood Suites by Hilton in this five-star desert retreat community attracts many travelers. Along with Hilton built suite clocks, on site guest laundry rooms, exercise facilities, nearby shopping malls, as well as daily complimentary hot breakfast, Homewood Suites offers a great new addition to La Quinta. Further, Hilton will be planning on opening 125 more Homewood Suites series in the near future.
