More and more future brides and grooms are considering destinations weddings. Why not? Imagine tying the knot on a secluded white sandy beach in Mexico. This is what story book romances are made of.
Welcome to La Zebra!
La Zebra in Tulum, Mexico is becoming a favorite retreat for people wanting beautiful, small seaside wedding ceremonies. The small resort guarantees couples will take home fond memories of their Big Day. La Zebra is a 1.5 hour drive south from the crowded beaches of Cancun. This micro hotel and restaurant are located on a stretch of hidden beachfront property. The operation itself is best described as having a jungle chic design, which gives the place an intimate, fashionable, and upscale atmosphere that can't be matched in Mexico.
The modern look of La Zebra is balanced by what guests see when they look out over the sparkling blue Caribbean Sea. The dazzling white beach is framed by a grove of coco palms that seem to be always swaying in time to the lapping waves and the gentle coastal sea breeze.
The Wedding Ceremony & Celebrations
A marriage ceremony at the small beach inn is always a dreamy and romantic event. The beauty of the beach and the property itself is complemented with a taste of authentic Mexican tradition. Soon-to-be newly-weds gaze out as the moon rises over the Caribbean Sea. Vows are exchange in a candlelit ceremony held on the hardwood deck of La Zebra that wraps around two living tropical palms.
After the ceremony, guests can gather and listen to the melodic sounds of live Salsa music provided by strolling mariachis under the thatched roof of the La Zebra's Cantina restaurant and Tequila bar. The hotel is known for its amazing Mexican cuisine, including traditional corn tamales, stuffed empanadas, fresh seafood ceviche, and a sea of homemade nachos and guacamole. An eclectic arrangement and selection is available, and custom dinner menus can also be requested and created for wedding celebrations.
"The intimate setting of La Zebra makes it ideal for small, private weddings," describes Heather Froeming, general manager of the La Zebra resort. "We pride ourselves on creating the perfect wedding setting and we are experts at helping make a couple's most important dreams come true."
Le Zebra is designed for small and cozy weddings. An onsite wedding planner is also available to coordinate a couple's every need, including music, flowers, decorations and civil ceremony requirements.
Beach Cabin Accommodations
The property has nine seaside cabanas. Each cabana room has been created using only natural elements. The units feature king sized beds draped in soft linens. There are extra large mosquito nets with overhead fans. The outdoor rain showers are lined with river stone, and use hot water 24 hours a day. The suites are decorated with hand-carved objects d'art from Oaxaca.
The hotel offers a 10% discount when bookings are made in a block. Their low season rates begin in September and end in November. "For people who choose to get married in Mexico, we want the whole experience to be infused with the unique flavors and passions of tropical Mexico," she continued.
