Sleep in the Rainforest at Ariau Amazon Resort

Amazon JungleThe next time you find yourself in the middle of the Amazon, be sure to make your way via GPS to the Ariau Amazon Towers Hotel. You'll think you've found yourself in the middle of a movie set.

Ariau Amazin Towers Hotel located in the treetops of the Amazon Rainforest

What makes Ariau Amazon Towers different from your typical Hilton is that its towers - are situated up to 22 metres from ground level in the towers built in the tree tops of the Amazon Rainforest. Currently, there are 7 towers, with 288 rooms, each of which are connected by wooden catwalks which total 5 miles - and are all under cover from the rainforest.

Voted as one of Conde Nast Traveler's "25 Extraordinary Places Worth That Extra Mile" over a decade ago, there's no question that this Ariau Amazon Towers is still a one of a kind place to stay when you are in the Amazon Rainforest. Facilities that have been built within the treetops include 2 swimming pools, 2 observation towers located 40 meters above ground level, restaurants serving regional foods, various bars, and convenience stores.

Just 35 miles from the city of Manaus in Brazil, the Ariau Amazon Towers Hotel is located at the joining of the Rio Negro and the Ariau Creek, and at the bottom of the Anavilhanas Archipelago. The area of the Amazon Rainforest is considered one of the most biologically diverse regions in the world, and Ariau Amazon Towers works to support the ecological diversity of the area. One tower, the "Aviary of Hope" is a project that was started to house medicinal plants, offer education on the Amazon's ecology, give refuge to endangered species of animals, birds, and other wildlife of the Rainforest.

Staying at Ariau Amazon Towers Hotel

When staying at the Ariau Amazon Towers, there are a variety of activities, tours, and excursions available. These include tours within the forest, canoe tours, caiman (alligator) spotting, sunrise tours of the rainforest, fishing for piranhas, and visiting the homes of natives.

When not trekking through the Amazon, relaxing in your room built in a dark mahogony tree, there are always the friendly monkeys and parrot to keep you entertained. A great testament to ecological preservation and sustainability, the Ariau Amazon Towers Hotel is a must-see the next time you visit Brazil's Amazon Rainforest.
