History buffs certainly will not wish to miss this exciting exhibit that chronicles the history and transformation of two local ski mountains from the Bethel, Maine region.
This exhibit, which is being produced by the Bethel Historical Society, will open on Sept 19, 2009 and run through to May 28, 2010. The exhibit will commemorate the 50th anniversaries of Mt. Abram ski resort in Greenwood and Sunday River resort in Newry with displays of photographs, artifacts, ski equipment and period advertising relating to the development of alpine and Nordic skiing in the mountains of western Maine.
Part of the Ski Museum of Maine's permanent collection will also be on display. This exhibit provides an excellent opportunity to look back into a different time in the world of skiing and is sure to not disappoint.
