there are only a few people in history - that even the sight of them, will bring you to tears. or me, at least.  but perhaps i have a leaky faucet in my eyes :)

one of them is Nelson Mandela - and today is his 90th birthday  i only hope that by my 90th birthday, i would have been able to change the course of history like Mandela.

read a great article that Time Magazine wrote on Mandela's 8 Lessons of Leadership - which looks at his leadership, his past and history, and how he came to overcome, resist, and helped to end apartheid in south africa.  absolutely stunning - and a reminder that there's so much more to africa than safaris and giraffes.

they say that the symbol of Mandela's fist held high in the air - has become a symbol for standing up against oppression and injustice - as he did against Mugabe in Zimbabwe just a few weeks ago.
