5 days / 4 nightsFrom Entebbe transfer to Ngamba Island Chimp Sanctuary for a night in a tented camp on Lake Victoria. There is the option of taking the chimps on forest walk. Then fly to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to stay in a luxury tented camp or lodge and visit the Mountain Gorillas. African Safari                        TRAVELLERS COMMENTS      Chimps and gorillas crammed into four days – it was heaven and the contrast of the islands, the lake and the glorious forest was overwhelming. The lodges were simple but honest and the guides and hosts purely delightful.       ITINERARY SUMMARY      Similar safaris can be arranged in Rwanda – just e-mail us for ideas.Day 1     From Entebbe transfer by boat to Ngamba Island for your overnight stay in a tented camp. Spend the afternoon viewing the chimps and learning about their rescue and rehabilitation.Day 2     Transfer by boat to Entebbe for your charter flight to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest where your lodge guide will meet you and transfer you to your lodge or camp – recommended are Gorilla Uganda safari Forest Camp or Gorilla Valley Lodge (Buhoma). Option of an afternoon forest walk depending on your arrival time.Day 3     Gorilla tracking and overnight at your lodge.Day 4     Option of a second gorilla trek (with pre-purchased permits) or forest walks to see birds and other primates. If time is really short you can fly back to Entebbe this morning, we feel this beautiful place is worthy of the extra day but if you are really short of time you can fly back to Entebbe this morning – ask us for a quote.Day 5     Return charter flight to Entebbe.      HIGHLIGHTS & FEATURES                * A visit to Lake Victoria is a wonderful opportunity to see local African life, to learn of the chimp rehabilitation and (at extra cost) take a walk in the forest with these endearing animals.    * A great way for busy people to experience both chimps and Mountain Gorillas    * Bwindi National Park is home to gorillas and 8 other species of primate. There are also elephant, bush pig, giant forest hog, at least 346 species of birds and at least 202 species of butterfly. The forest itself is glorious!    * Accommodation in a luxury lodges and comfortable tented camps.       DATE & PRICE GUIDE     Click here for currency converter           This is a private safari and will operate on any day to suit you. Please book well in advance, gorilla permits are very limited.Accommodation packages for the 3 nights with guiding, all meals, airstrip transfers begin at – US$1640 per person. Gorilla permits are additional and currently cost US$360 to US$375 per person per trek.Walking with chimps in the forest at Ngamba is an additional US$150 per person and a health certificate will be required.Charter flight prices are also additional and can only be confirmed at the time of booking. To give you some idea they will be roughly US$400 (4 people) to US$600 (2 people) per person one way.       IS THIS SAFARI RIGHT FOR YOU??                * Charter flights do really add to the cost of this safari but in Uganda roads are poor and distances are long so if time is short you really do need to fly in and out of this remote area.    * • Meals are simple but wholesome    * As a rule you spend only one hour with the gorillas    * To walk with chimps you will need to obtain a health certificate, we can provide all information when you make your booking Mauritius Holidays    * Local accommodation is very comfortable but certainly not sophisticated or luxurious.    * Children under 15 years of age are not permitted to visit the gorillas    * In Uganda things do go wrong – power is unreliable, a bridge may be washed away … local conditions may effect the day-by-day itinerary, are you OK with a bit of flexibility?
