Getting married in Grenada: Requirements

Before applying for a marriage license visitors must be resident for a minimum of three working days (excluding weekends and public holidays). Application for a marriage license is made at the Prime Minister’s Office after the necessary stamp duty and license fees have been paid. This process takes approximately two days (and slightly longer if either party is divorced, as documents must then be sent to the Ministry of Legal Affairs).

Documents required for a marriage in Grenada include valid passports, birth certificates, proof of divorce decree (if applicable), proof of single status (letter from clergy, etc.), a Deed Poll (if a name has been changed), and a Death Certificate if either party is widowed. All papers must be in English. No blood tests are required.
