There are boutique hotels and then there’s The Toren Hotel in Amsterdam.
Perfect for romantic getaways, weekends, or honeymoons in Amsterdam, the Toren is a quiet, unpretentious, and stylish hotel with all the luxury and opulence you could dream of. Located in one of Amsterdam’s grand 17th century canal houses on Keizergracht, the Emperor’s Canal, the Toren Hotel was built in the city’s Golden age and is located in one of the city’s most romantic and picturesque areas.

As one of the most elegant boutique hotels in the city, its claim “designed to charm,” is not just a convenient marketing phrase. Rich, luxurious décor in public areas and in the rooms/suites create a comfortable and elegant setting for visitors to the city and especially for those looking to create a little romance.
Original paintings on the ceiling by students of Vincent Van Gogh seamlessly blend into interior designer, Wim van de Oudeweetering’s, bold themes and motifs.
With a strong commitment to hospitality, the staff at The Toren aim to fulfill your requirements 24 hours a day, from room turn-down service to bottles of champagne, chocolate-dipped strawberries, specialty chocolate truffles, or fruit upon your arrival. Private canal boat rides or romantic dinners at the nearby Restaurant Christophe are easily arranged at any guest’s request.

The boutique hotel offers 38 very well-appointed guest rooms and suites to suit independent travellers, couples, honeymooners, or families. Each room offers a view of the Amsterdam canals or the gardens, whirlpool baths for indulging at the end of a long day visiting the city’s sights, Nespresso coffee/tea machines, WiFi internet access, flat screen TV’s, iPod alarm clocks, mini bars, and safes. A small, lavish meeting room can hold 16 guests with access from the street.

The Toren’s Garden Cottage is a stand-alone cottage hidden away in the hotel’s inner garden square that offers all the amenities and luxuries of guest rooms with additional privacy and seclusion.
A large breakfast spread is offered each morning in the hotel’s lounge with opulent chandeliers and table settings overlooking the canals. The bar is a hot spot on weekends where hotel guests, businessmen, and locals cozy up for a game of chess or finalize deals over a drink.
