There was once a time when Paris’ Right Bank was where all the well-to-do and the upper crust of Parisian society resided; while the Left Bank was reserved for the artists, writers, students, and poets.

Today, although the distinction is much less prominent between the right and left banks in Paris, the Right Bank is where many of the city’s attractions are located: the Louvre, les Champs-Elysees, Arc de Triomphe, Sacre Coeur Basilica, the Bastille Opera, the Moulin Rouge, Centre Pompidou, and etc.
Stay

Les Jardins du Marais is located at the heart of the Right Bank, bordering the 3rd and 11th arrondisements, smack-dab between Place de la Republique and Place de la Bastille, two of Paris’ most-visited attractions. The hotel’s gardens offer guests a very Parisian-styled place to relax during the day while acting as an atrium connecting the hotel’s various buildings. Recently renovated in 2009, rooms are contemporary, clean, and can be had at fantastic rates, especially in weekend packages.
Within walking distance, you can also see the Picasso Museum, the Places des Vosges, the Carnavalet Museum, Opera Bastille, and the house of Victor Hugo. Just steps from metro station St-Sebastien Froissart, many of Paris’ other top sights like the Eiffel Tower, Hotel de Ville, and Notre Dame are easily accessible from hotel les Jardins du Marais.
Dine

Les Jardins du Marais’ contemporary restaurant offers modern French cuisine as well as breakfast, lunch, and dinner options for hotel guests. Nearby bars and pizzerias are packed with locals enjoying happy hour.
Otherwise, the Right Bank is your oyster when it comes to fine dining – from moules frites, high end pastries at Pavillon Ledoyen, or French bistro food at Fouquet’s on Les Champs Elysees; to even higher-end places like Alain Ducasse at Hotel Plaza Athenee or Pierre Gagnaire at Hotel Balzac near L’Arc de Triomphe.
