The recent TV hit Smash has many of us itching to be Broadway stars. With Studio K’s newest dance class, Broadway Burn, you get the chance to hog the spotlight and dance like the star of the show all while burning calories.
When I arrived at the studio, I prepared myself for kick ball change steps and jazz hands, but what I found was an energetic group singing while grooving to Broadway favorites. The instructor lead the class through simple cardio steps choreographed to the beat of each song. We danced to tunes like The Lion King’s I Just Cannot Wait To Be King, Legally Blonde’s Bend and Snap, and Christina Aguilera’s Show Me How You Burlesque. By the end of the hour the sweat is flowing freely, the smiles are glowing and everyone is thoroughly exhausted. The class is so much fun you forget that you are working out, until the next day when you awake with sore muscles.
Studio K offers the largest variety of dance and dance fitness classes with more than 30 styles including Hot Hula, Flash Mob Cardio and Music Video Choreography. They were the first in the nation to provide Broadway Burn and are the only provider of Hot Hula in Florida.
