Relaxing and rejuvenating are only a few of the words to describe the Relâche Spa at the Gaylord Palms Resort, a 25,000-foot zone of pampering and indulgence. The friendly staff, signature treatments and beautiful facility ease the soul and relax the mind. It is a true escape.

My day started with an ear-to-ear grin as I made my way to the Gaylord Palms. Once inside, I was struck by the serene color palate, warm natural woods and modern decor dotted with coastal living elegance. Throughout the day, I enjoyed several treatments, which only increased my desire to take up permanent residence within the spa walls. My favorite treatment of the day had to be the Everglades Stone Massage, 80 minutes of pure delight. The body is massaged with warmed basalt stones to help release tension, restore balance and increase positive energy flow.

Of course, all of the treatments are spectacular and sure to leave you feeling like royalty.

If you can, plan to stick around for the day and enjoy the amenities. The spa features a eucalyptus steam room, dry sauna and a full-service salon for beauty treatments, manicures, pedicures and makeup services. Also, ordering lunch in between treatments is the best way to really settle in and enjoy the day. I recommend ordering the Warm Chevre spread, which may have been the best thing I have ever tasted, and the Flat Iron Steak Sandwich with blue cheese crumbles.

The Relâche Spa is perfect for mother’s day gifts, bridal parties or just a much needed day of relaxation.

I’m a writer and a digital diva. In other words, when I’m not writing, I’m shooting photos or video. My favorite travel spots lately include Madrid, for its stunning architecture; Colorado, for its heart-pounding hikes and breath-taking scenery; and the Galapagos Islands, for its sea lions, whales and blue-footed boobies.

Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival
I am a huge fan of the Flower & Garden festival for a ton of reasons. For starters, it takes more than a year to concept, cultivate, design and install, utilizing about 24,000 cast members in the process. This year features 30 million blooms blanketing the park for the full 75 days...

Enzian: Films + Food = Fun!

Boerne, TX: Land of Incredible Shopping
Antique shopping is like a modern day treasure hunt. As I rummage through cluttered shelves filled with hidden gems and oddities, I cross my fingers for a 48-piece china set for $10 or antique costume jewelry for less than a new haircut. You just never know what you’re going to find. And...
