#1. Replica of U.S.S. Enterprise in Vulcan, Alberta

Known as Canada’s quirkiest town and recently visited by Leonard Nimoy himself (Spock, the Vulcan, from the original Star Trek series & films). Built in 2004 to celebrate the town of Beaverlodge’s 75th anniversary of incorporation, this giant beaver is 15-feet high, 28-feet long, and weighs 3000 pounds. He sits pretty on top of a giant log along the highway to Alaska in northwest Alberta.

#3. Mac the Moose in Moosejaw, Saskatchewan

Fun and quirky, Mac the Moose was built in 1984 at 32 feet tall and weighing in at 10 tons. This giant moose can be seen from miles away in his home of – where else, but Moosejaw, Saskatchewan. Aside from Mac, you can also see Capone’s Car and a Moose Family along the highway in Moosejaw.

#4. World’s largest pyrogy in Glendon, Alberta

This giant pyrogy (also pierogy, perogy & perogie) stands tall at 27 feet, impaled by a fork. The structure sits in Pyrogy Park off of Pyrogy Drive. Makes you hungry, doesn’t it? Visitors who come to see the giant pyrogy can sample pyrogies at nearby restaurants.

#5. Giant potato in O’Leary, Prince Edward Island

In a province with a long history of potato farming, the town of O’Leary features a 14-foot tall potato statue that sits outside the Prince Edward Island Potato Museum – possibly the only potato museum in the world – that holds the largest exhibit of potato artifacts in the world.

#6. Giant lobster in Shediac, New Brunswick

Just as PEI boasts potatoes, so New Brunswick boasts lobsters – and in Shediac, New Brunswick – you’ll find a giant lobster statue that’s 35-feet long, 16-feet wide, and 16-feet tall – complete with a fisherman statue. The installation was built in 1990 by the Shediac Rotary Club to pay tribute to the crustacean and draw visitors.

#8. Giant dinosaur in Milk River, Alberta

While seemingly random, you can find a 36-foot tall tyrannosaurus-rex outside the visitors’ centre in Milk River, Alberta where they have the Devil’s Coulee Dinosaur Heritage Museum. The area is part of Alberta’s badlands, a hot spot for dinosaur archaeological discoveries.

#9. Jumbo the elephant in St. Thomas, Ontario

Jumbo the elephant was the prize elephant of Barnum & Bailey Circus, known as the “Greatest Show on Earth” in its time. Sadly, it was in St. Thomas, Ontario when Jumbo met his end in 1885 when he was crossing a railroad track and was hit by an oncoming train. In his memory, the townspeople built a life-sized statue of Jumbo, located on St. Thomas’ Fingal Road.

#10. Giant Viking in Gimli, Manitoba

It’s fitting that the town of Gimli, Manitoba, a town with the largest Icelandic population outside of Iceland, boasts a 15-foot tall Viking statue. He stands by Lake Winnipeg as a monument to the first European explorers in Canada.
