It was inspired by a young soldier I met who complained he went everywhere in Iraq except for Saddam's palace in Baghdad. The palace was in the "Green Zone," and the surrounding area had a lot of amenities, including a decent chow hall, swimming pools, weight rooms, salsa lessons, and a relatively-high female-to-male ratio.
