 | Kepler Challenge (Part 1) 1 December 2007 represented the 20th year of the Kepler Challenge. The challenge is considered New Zealand's premier mountain race. It is a 60km mountain run whereby 400 participants from around the world get to compete. The event takes place in Te Anau, south island of NZ. Footage has been presented to allow people to gain an insight from "the eyes of the runner" into the terrain, spectacular scenery and challenges presented of a mountain run. Footage is captured from both helicopter shots and an ELMO-SUV Cam fastened to my cap, and is presented for your viewing in 4 parts, courtesy of the distributors CR Kennedy Australia/NZ. This is the first time I have attempted a video feed. In coming weeks, I shall provide motion feed, broken down into sections of terrain and difficulty, not just still frame. Credit should also go to Daimler Australia/Pacific and Asics Oceania as my sponsors in travel, uniforms and footwear leading up to the event. Acknowledgement should also go to my coach, Brian Schepisi, and Brian Ackerly, my running buddy and mountain goat leading all the way to the starting gun. Last but not least, to my family, friends, running squad, work colleagues and the Kepler Challenge Organising Committee -- thank you.
