NEW ENGLAND FALL COLORS WITH RAIL AND SAIL

Leaves are falling and so are the prices.

Day 1:
We travel north to Southern NH. On arrival in NH you will be taken to the Anheuser Bush Brewery for a tour and tasting and to see the famous Clydesdale Horses. Later in the afternoon we will experience a chocolate tasting and tour at the Swan Chocolate factory. Upon arrival at the hotel wine and cheese will be waiting. ( transfers from Manchester and Logan airport available Dinner included

Day 2:
We will enjoy a full Breakfast Buffet at the Hotel before heading off to explore the New England Fall Colors. We will travel north to Bartlet NH, New Hampshire, where we will board the Cog Railroad for a spectacular train trip up Mount Washington. You will want to be sure to bring your camera for the spectacular viewpoints and scenic vistas. After lunch we will travel across one of the most scenic roads in North America, the Kancamangus Highway. The Kancamangus offers some of the most dramatic views, with the fall colors and covered bridges. Later this afternoon we will visit the Shaker Village Canterbury where you will learn about the many contributions the Shaker’s made to our society. Tonight we will feature a traditional Shaker Dinner. Breakfast and Dinner included.

Day 3:
It is off to Coastal Maine where we will explore the Light House Trail. Our first stop will be at Nubble Light one of the most photographed points in Maine. Next it is on to the largest lighthouse gift shop in Maine, followed by a New England Lobster Lunch. This afternoon we will visit Portland and the famous Portland Head Light, as well as other lighthouses in the area. Breakfast and Lunch included

Day 4:

We depart your hometown for Montpelier Vermont and a visit to the New England Culinary Institute. After a tour of the school you will be served a gourmet lunch by the students. The food is always good and served to perfection. After lunch it is a short ride up the road to Cold Holler where you can sample fresh pressed Cider, and locally made Jams, Jellies, Relishes and other food products produced in Vermont. For those that enjoy wines you can even go wine tasting. A short distance away is the Cabot Cheese Store Annex where you can taste and purchase a verity of Vermont Cheeses. It is only a short ride to Burlington where you will be greeted with hot Cider and Cookies. You will have a chance to freshen up before sailing on a sunset Dinner cruise around Lake Champlain. Be sure to keep your eyes open for Champs the creature that is supposed to be a cousin to the Loch Ness Monster. Lunch & Dinner

Day 5:
After breakfast you will travel by motor coach to Plattsburg NY where you will board Amtrak for a scenic ride through the Adirondack’s. Often in the fall Amtrak places commentators on the trains for this run. The Adirondack route has been voted as one of the 10 most scenic rail trips in the country. ( you will be on the train five hours and there is a snack bar car on the train) You will arrive in Albany at around 5:30 pm and our dinner stop will be the Golden Coral. Many of our customers tell us the Golden Coral is their favorite of any of the chain restaurants. Tonight we will overnight in Albany at the Comfort Inn Breakfast and Dinner

Day 6:
We will travel from Albany to historic Boston, Massachusetts. Our First stop will be the USS Constitution, the oldest commissioned ship in the US Navy. Next we will visit the North End of Boston where you will see the Old North Church and Paul Revere’s Home. Then it is on to the famed Quincy Market for a bit of shopping and lunch. After lunch our tour of Boston will continue viewing the State House, Boston Common, Trinity Church and other Boston Highlights. Our last stop this afternoon will be the Kennedy Library Tonight we will overnight on Cape Cod Breakfast and Dinner included.

Day 7:
Today we will visit the Cape Cod National Sea Shore. We will make stops at the Salt March Vistors Center and you will have time to explore the shops of Provincetown in the afternoon If the weather is good we will do offer an optional whale watching cruise from Provincetown. Breakfast and Dinner included

Day 8:
This morning before departing for the airport we will visit the Mansions of Newport RI You will be transferred to the airport for your return flight home.
