We depart your hometown for Portsmouth NH where we have chartered a boat for a 2.5 HOUR cruise to the Isle of Shoals.

If the open sea is your desire, join us for the Isles of Shoals cruise. Leave Portsmouth Harbor and discover the nine legendary islands located six miles off the coast. Settled by Captain John Smith, the Isles of Shoals have had a diverse history as a mecca for fishing in colonial times, a hideout for notorious pirates, and a resort for intellectuals; all contributing to its role in the lore and legends of the Seacoast. For lunch we will stop at the Dunstan School House Restaurant for an all you can eat luncheon buffet. Dunstan School is an old schoolhouse restored and redecorated with an effort to retain as much of the old school's
atmosphere and nostalgia as possible; The dining rooms are named after sections of the Town of Scarborough. The chalkboards have been kept in most rooms as they were used in the old classrooms. The upright piano has been stripped of its many coats of different colored paint and restored to its original finish. The exterior of the building is restored almost in original detail with its new signs designed to be very compatible to the surrounding architecture. The pictures in each room are of old restaurants and inns of the local area. The Dunstan School was constructed during World War II. The cornerstone bears the date of 1944, and the first class entered the building in September, 1945, serving grades 1 to 8.As the Scarborough School System was consolidated, use of this building was discontinued in 1980. The building remained boarded and out of use until purchased in May, 1985 by the owners of the famous Clambake Restaurant at Pine Point, Scarborough. After lunch we will tour Portland by land and by sea aboard the Down East Ducks. SPLASH into history on this fun and fully-narrated 65-minute adventure through Portland, Maine! As you twist and turn through the Old Port, we'll tell you about the legends and lore that have shaped Portland into one of the most historical cities in the nation. Learn about places of interest to visit and many little known facts about the city that is nicknamed "The Phoenix." Then, hold onto your tail feathers as we DRIVE into the waters of Casco Bay to view Portland's working waterfront, Calendar Islands and marine wildlife.
