You are transferred from the Halifax airport to your Halifax hotel for a two night stay. Rooms are available for check-in after 3:00 p.m. Join an 8:00 p.m. welcome briefing.
After breakfast, visit the picturesque fishing village and artists’ retreat of Peggy’s Cove. Then, enjoy a sightseeing drive of Halifax, including a visit to Citadel Hill. Travel north this morning to New Brunswick, Canada’s picture province. Enjoy a visit to the province’s most famous geological feature and most popular tourist attraction, the Flowerpot Rocks at Hopewell Cape. Observe the gradual rise or fall of the Bay of Fundy tides, an average change of 6 to 8 feet per hour. The Fundy Tides rise and fall up to 50 feet and are the highest on earth. Twice each day one-hundred-billion tons of water flow into the Bay of Fundy. This creates the phenomenal Fundy Tides, which overpower the rivers flowing into the Bay of Fundy and reverse their direction two times a day. This daily rise and fall of the tides equals the 24-hour flow of all of the rivers in the world. Then, continue over the Confederation Bridge to Prince Edward Island, Canada’s smallest province. Arrive at your country inn for a relaxing two night stay. B
This morning, drive along the seashore of Prince Edward Island Park. Watch for red fox and great blue heron. Visit Anne of Green Gables House in Cavendish. Maritime lobsters are world renowned for their great taste. BD
Enjoy a morning ferry ride back to Nova Scotia. Travel north over the causeway to Cape Breton Island. Alexander Graham Bell once remarked, “I have traveled around the globe... and for simple beauty, Cape Breton outrivals them all.” Bell made his home here. Visit the Alexander Graham Bell Museum, dedicated to the inventor of the telephone. Relive Bell’s first words over the telephone, “Mr.Watson - come here - I want to see you.” Arrive at your hotel in the resort town of Baddeck for an enjoyable two night stay. Enjoy dinner. BD
