CATLIN Arctic Survey send off!

Title:
CATLIN Arctic Survey send off!

Description:
One of the big questions scientists and environmentalists are asking is: how much Arctic sea ice is really left and how much longer will it last? A new expedition, in partnership with WWF, is trying to find out. The Catlin Arctic Survey, which set off at the end of February, is an international collaboration between polar explorers and some of the worlds leading scientific bodies, including the University of Cambridge. A team of three are traveling on foot across 1,200km of erratic polar sea ice, gathering vital scientific data. Pen Hadow, renowned polar explorer and director of the project, describes this vital trip as a pioneering feat of human endurance combined with a scientific endeavor. Pen and the team expand on the relevance and importance of the project in revealing interviews filmed at the survey send-off event. http://www.catlin.com

Help save our seas WWF-UK
In December 2008, after 10 years of campaigning by WWF, the UK government announced it was introducing a UK Marine and Coastal Access Bill into parliament. But theres still more work to be done. We need to ensure the legislation is made strong enough to safeguard our precious seas less than 2% of which are currently protected. We need your help in our campaign to ensure the future of wildlife, habitats and livelihoods around our coasts. Take action now! Visit wwf.org.uk
