Her name is Mystery. She was built of out of cypress in 1940 in Louisiana by boat builder S. Klonaris. Measuring more than 60 feet in topside length, 17 feet wide and weighing more than 40 tons, this wide-hulled boat was built for strength and durability. When first built, she was 'top of the line'. By 1964, only 25 years after her construction, she was an old lady. She had become obsolete. Her final captain was Billy Larry Ledet. The Mystery can be seen in Freeport, Texas off highway 288 near the Freeport Police Department headquarters. For more information about Mystery visit the Freeport Visitors Bureau.
