Sgt. Scott Dudek with the Alameda County Sheriff's Department met with media March 17 to give details in the investigation of the deaths of Ernest Scherer, Jr., 60, and his wife, Charlene Abendroth, 57. Married for 31 years, the couple was found dead in their Castlewood Drive home, just outside of Pleasanton, Calif. Police said they weren't releasing any positive motives to the murders, but ruled out the possibility of a murder-suicide.
