New England Ice Storm 2008 Ashburnham Fitchburg

Title:
New England Ice Storm 2008 Ashburnham Fitchburg

Description:
This is a video Sarah shot of us driving 16 hours after the ice storm was over. This is Rindge Road; a two lane road with about a foot on each side for a shoulder. There were down trees, live power lines and about two inches of ice on the road. I didn't realize Sarah was taping the trip. Apologize for the normal husband wife commentary. All of the streets in the area looked just like this. We didn't have power, phone, cable, internet, cell phone service and no radio. So we decided to see what was going on.

Ice Storm Pummels Midwest
The Friday, December 19, 2008, ice storm, which cut a wide swath across the Midweste United States, also touched Plymouth, Illinois. The storm snapped some trees, as shown in this video, and left an icy blanket over trees. The stark beauty of the ice gives the video nearly a "black and white" appearance in many places. Plymouth was fortunate, with only minor reports of service disruptions, which also included some nearby communities. This video is typical of scenes in this western Illinois area....
