Title:
Inauguration of the Anao Bridge
Description:
http://rtvm.gov.ph Mexico, Pampanga March 23, 2009 President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo continues to invest in infrastructure projects as she upholds her administrations goal in bringing the country closer to the ranks of first world countries. In her projection of bringing the country to a more stable economy the president led the unveiling of marker and the inaugural drive thru of the Anao Bridge in Mexico, Pampanga. The bridge which runs across Abacan River in Barangay San Jose Malino to Barangay Anao in Mexico, Pampanga is expected to cut travel time as it directly linked the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and the Magalang-Concepcion Road and Ninoy AquinoByway in Magalang bypassing the congested section of the Gapan San Fernando Olongapo. The bridge also serves as the alternate east-west lateral link to the GSO Road. The Anao Bridge comprises 4 spans of 30.0m and has a roadway width of 7.32m with pre-stressed concrete girder resting on bored pile foundation (1.4m. dia.) it also includes concrete approaches and river training works. It is expected that with the completion of the Anao Bridge a short, safe, convenient travel and better mobility in the transport of agricultural and aquatic products and basic services are provided in service of our people.(JDA/RJU)
