Last January I travelled to Haifa, Israel, for a 9 day pilgrimage to the spiritual and administrative centre of the Bahá'í Faith. As with any pilgrimage it was a very special time. I fell ill with a high fever for a few days and, though I managed to battle through, I missed a few trips. It was a big challenge of detachment to be able to accept being ill during such an amazing experience and just give everything over. With the help of my friends and fellow pilgrims I overcame my illness and was able to finish my pilgrimage. What I failed mention in the video is that the history of the Bahá'í Faith lies not only in Israel; the cradle of the Faith lies in Iran where Bahá'u'lláh, the founder of the Bahá'í Faith and who Bahá'ís believe is the Manifestation of God for this day, was born, raised and eventually exiled from. The sites in Israel are of importance in the later years of the early history of the Faith. The Holy family was exiled to Akka, the administrative centre of the Faith lies in Haifa and the Báb, forerunner of Bahá'u'lláh, is buried on Mount Carmel - these are just a few of the many things to be seen and experienced. I hope that this video can give you a brief glimpse into a very special time ...
