Gabriela Montero & Gautier Capucon - Rachmaninov & Prokofiev
Title:
Gabriela Montero & Gautier Capucon - Rachmaninov & Prokofiev
Description:
French Virgin Classics artist Gautier Capucon and Venezuelan EMI Classics artist Gabriela Montero meet in this programme of works for cello and piano by Rachmaninov and Prokofiev. The sonatas were composed 48 years apart and each composer only wrote one such work each - yet the programme brings forth the two composers similarities, just as it brings out the similar musical sensibilities of the two young performers featured. When Gabriela and Gautier met in Lugano, under the aegis of Martha Argerich, a great friendship and an exciting musical partnership was born. Their encounter brought forth a series of concerts and it was then decided to record this programme of Russian music. ________________________________________ More information: http://www.emiclassics.com/releasedetails.php?rid=44800 ________________________________________ Buy from Amazon (USA): http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000LPRNVI/emi-jazz-class-21/ref%3Dnosim ________________________________________ Buy from Amazon (UK): http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000LPRNVI/emi-jazz-class-21/ref%3Dnosim ________________________________________ Buy from Amazon (FR): http://www.amazon.fr/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000LPRNVI/emi-jazz-class-21/ref%3Dnosim ________________________________________ Buy from Amazon (DE): http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000LPRNVI/emi-jazz-class-21/ref%3Dnosim ________________________________________ http://www.emiclassics.com http://www.emiclassics.co.uk http://www.emiclassics.de ________________________________________

The passion, poetic musicality and sense of structure Gabriela brings to classical works translate to her classy improvisations. To be honest, lately I've been wondering whether she belongs to the human race or simply a divinity fallen from the Olympus. And guess what?
