A Marsh Harrier and a Night Heron that had been brought in to Birdlife Mata's office in March 2009. Both birds had been shot by poachers and were due to be given veterinary treatment and, hopefully, rehabilitated prior to release into the wild.

Marsh Harrier Rehabilitation
Recorded at Birdlife Malta's Office these Marsh Harriers had been illegaly shot. After being rescued they recieved veterinary treatment and are now undergoing the first stages of rehabilitation. Hopefully they will make a full recovery and will be released back into the wild in due course.

Hedge Laying Training at Jerusalem Farm
Mick Chatham of Calderdale Countryside Services gives lessons in hedge-laying to a small group of volunteers. Although stone walls are the commonest boundary feature in the Calderdale landscape, we have many hedgerows that have been neglected over the years. The art of hedge-laying is a disappearing skill and volunteers, once trained, will be able to help maintain these hedgerows in order to improve their bio-diversity.
