Livgardet (The Life Guards) training
Description:
The Life Guards' history stretches back to 1521, so making them the world's oldest extant unit in active service. The Life Guards have had an eventful history and trace their origins back to the "16 good men and true" which the Swedish dalesmen, the Dalecarlians, contributed to Gustav Vasa's life guardsmen in January 1521. The present day cavalry have their origins in the mounted 'ryttarfanor' established in the provinces of Uppland and Södermanland in 1536. http://www.livgardet.mil.se
