Description:
As I was driving through the town of John Day, Oregon, their siren sounded four cycles for a noon signal (sorry about the weird audio). I drove around looking for it but it was impossible to tell which direction the sound was coming from. I could not find the thing anywhere until I finally saw the sun reflecting off its peaked cap, sticking out from behind a tree on a hillside above the town. I think it is from the 1930's-50's, but I have no idea about the manufacturer. There are several sirens like this one in Oregon.
