From KETC, LIVING ST. LOUIS Producer Patrick Murphy follows the restoration process of the St. Louis City Museum's most recent acquisition—a 1929 Wurlitzer pipe organ. The organ was originally built in 1294 for the Rivoli Theatre in New York. With the help of volunteers, the organ was transformed from an abandoned wreck to a fully functioning musical instrument, now heard throughout the halls and caves of City Museum.

Grandma and I took the boys to the City Museum 11/2 for a little day out. The City Museum is not a museum actually, but rather an overgrown version of a mcdonalds playplace, as made by a bunch of artists with welding torches. It's really something, much more than the few snippets of videos here.

This is a "must see" attraction when you visit St Louis. It is housed in a 4-story building formerly used as a shoe factory. So inside there are massive spaces to fill. The museum is for kids of all ages. For the younger ones, there are many climbing/crawling activities through intricate mazes. One maze, called The Caves, is vertical and reaches to the top of the building. In one area, younger children can listen to a story teller, or do art projects with clay, paint, plaster.
