We spent most of the week searching rivers, estuaries, swamps, and sluggish streams. And up to that point, we spotted only a few individuals from far away. Cenote (Cavern) Diving in Chac Mool, Mexico
This is a compilation of a bunch of short video clips and pics I took with my digital camera on a couple cenote dives in Chac Mool. There were layers of salt water and crystal-clear fresh water -- the blurry parts in the video are where the two layers mixed. Pretty cool, eh? My favorite part is about five and a half minutes into the video, where we surfaced and checked out the cave from inside. One of the coolest experiences of my life!

The West Indian Manatee (Trichechus manatus) is a manatee, and the largest surviving member of the aquatic mammal order Sirenia.
