In 1987 West Midlands Travel abandoned it's bus route in Palfrey, Walsall so as to put extra buses against Midland Red North's minibus operation. Midland Red North diverted one of it's routes to serve Palfrey, then eventually closed it's Walsall operation down. Then Chase Coaches took over the Palfrey service per this video of Ex Greater Manchester Leyland National HJA127N. WMT on seeing that Chase were making a success of running a bus to / from Palfrey then decided to divert buses back through Palfrey and damage competition (it worked).

Metrorider refuels with passengers on board, 1987 Walsall
Although carying West Midlands Travel livery this MCW Metrrider was actually being operated by it's subsidiary Central Coachways Ltd. As Central Coachways did not have refuelling facilities at it's garage it's minibuses had to refuel at Key Fuels, just off route 330 as seen in this video.

PDH808- Walsall Leyand Royal Tiger 1983
Walsall Corporation 1952 Leyland Royal Tiger / Park Royal 808 (PDH808) was running the service from Maypole to Wythall Bus Museum in 1983. Buses 806 to 810 were the first Walsall buses incorporating the ideas of R Edgley-Cox, new manager at Walsall in 1952.

Between Rugeley and Stafford on service 824 there was a narrow a low bridge - too low for Leyland Nationals with roof pods - so Chase Coaches used Leyland Leopards like JHA201L seen here. This bus has a Marshall body. Location : Colwich.
London Liner - C101DYE - Bull Ring Birmingham 1987
The "London Liner" coach service was a joint venture launched jointly by West Midlands PTE and London Transport in 1986. After about a year London Transport withdrew from the service leaving it entirely to West Midlands Travel. London Transport's C101DYE is seen near the Bull Ring in Birmingham on 15 March 1987.

Walsall trolleybuses - Stafford Street : 863 (TDH913)
In 1967 a new one-way traffic system was introduced in the centre of Walsall. Part of this scheme was that part of Stafford Street was to be a one-way street. However trolleybuses were allowed to remain travelling in the "wrong direction" having a trolleybus lane for this purpose per this video taken around 1968.
