JMDMT #1843 Microfossils of Cyanobacteria in Carbonaceous Meteorites

Description:
The James M. DuPont Meteorite Collection - crystals of daubreelite (Fe-19.6; Cr-35.8; Mn-0.5; S-44.0; Sigma -99.9 wt%) - troilite (Fe-61.5; S-36.6; Cr-1.3; Ni-0.2; Co-0.1; Sigma -98.7 wt%) intergrowth, surrounded by taenite rim (45 wt% Ni), and isolated grains of schreibersite (Fe-43.4; Ni-40.2; P-15.1; Sigma -98.7 wt%) and natural Cu. All studied samples contain deformation lamella; however, the samples with torn appearance are characterized by the availability of additional shock structures. There are cracks along the phase boundaries, bends, breaks, and displacements of kamacite platelets. These data allow to suppose that Chinga has been shocked twice: in space and on the Earth and its fall most probably reminds of that of Sikhote-Alin iron shower. It is not excluded that the largest sample
