Old Time Baseball
This game was a 1903 re-enactment featuring local business and civic leaders, professional athletes and media personalities. Wearing replica uniforms and era specific equipment, the participants played by turn of the century, 1903 baseball rules. The festivities also included carnival games, vintage costumed characters, a brass band and barbershop quartet, antique automobiles and announcers.
Murphysboro Dog Park Initiative
The Friends of Murphysboro are behind an effort to bring the first dog park to Southern Illinois, providing a safe, fenced, off-leash area for dog owners to exercise their pets and socialize with others who have common interests.

The History Center of Olmsted County vintage base ball program was established in 1997.
