This is short video of the "Blessing of the Mountains" held on Nov. 5 in Ansted, West Virginia. The town is located on The Midland Trail, next door to Hawk's Nest State Park. Amvest Corporation's Powellton Coal Company owns 18000 acres nearby and is gearing up for massive Mountaintop Removal on three neighboring mountains. Recently my cousin and I had a few days free so we decided to take a road trip to visit family in KY. One of our goals was to drive only designated National Scenic Byways as much as we possibly could so we drove the Midland Trail, Route 60, beginning at White Sulpher Springs, WV and ending at Louisville, Ky. i was suppose to be heading down I-77 but there was a really bad wreck involving a hazmat spill. so, the Turn Pike was closed and some of us went down the very twisty and narrow 60. the scenery made it worth it tho
