A Teenager in Rome: Day 3 - The Colosseum

Title:
A Teenager in Rome: Day 3 - The Colosseum

Description:
http://www.TravelsWithSheila.com Our last full day in Rome with a busy schedule. Out of the hotel, bags packed...the Roman Forum and the granddaddy of all Super Bowl arenas, the Colosseum. Big sigh...even longer lines...but it was worth it. The Colosseum was laden with men dressed as Gladiators hoping a tourist would have their photo taken with them, groups of Italian teenagers on field trips. What more could a teenage girl want?

A Teenager in Rome: Day 1
www.travelswithsheila.com It was our greatest pleasure to take teenage granddaughter, Sarah, to Europe on a whirlwind three-day trip. Rome was her choice and Spring break the only option. Adults have a difficult time absorbing ancient history, let alone a teenager. So we let Sarah dictate the sights to see with only a few "musts" to see. Watch us speed our way across beautiful Rome...

Genoa is not on many tour itineraries. But we found our trip to the city along the Italian Riviera in Northern Italy to be the perfect combination between decadence and adventure.

Perpignan, France - Palace of The Mallorcan Kings
www.travelswithsheila.com This Palace began construction in 1276 for James II of Mallorca. It is an important example of medieval, civil and military architecture in southern France. There are only a few sections to visit. The main courtyard, chapel, dining room and a few rooms. Extensive gardens surround the Palace with outstanding views of the mountains. The remainder was closed for restoration but the special exhibition on religion occupied us for quite a while.
