Matlock and Matlock Bath - Derbyshire by car. Includes the new A6 Matlock Bypass road.

Andy's Driving videos around Derbyshire, UK : Are you an ex-pat of Derbyshire, feeling homesick? Or perhaps you just want a clear way of giving someone directions to a location in Derbyshire or just want to show people your village. Well in this video and the many others I have made, you will be able to take a virtual drive around the streets as though you were in the driving seat. I use a dash-mounted camera, Traffic lights and heavy traffic have been edited out. This is a journey through the Derbyshire town of Matlock and the village of Matlock Bath. This was recorded around 1pm on Friday 20th June 2008, if you were walking around this area at that time then you may be on this video. Are YOU the person at 01:06 that runs into the road from the left? I would like to thank Charlie for some of the details around the new bypass. Starting in Matlock Bath heading north into Matlock and over the new Matlock Bypass. The bypass has made Matlock a much quieter place as most of the traffic has gone. If you used to use this route in the past then you will know just how congested it used to get in Matlock. Although its now safer to walk around now I'm not sure what effect that has had on local shops etc. Perhaps locals out there care to comment on the matter? P.O.I.... 00:00 Dale Road (A6) going north from Matlock Bath. 00:18 Matlock Town border 01:01 The new road junction for the bypass. 01:10 Here is where you would normally have gone right, over the bridge but as you can see this is now for traffic leaving Matlock (so no right turn here) 01:14 The New Matlock Bypass 01:21 The entrance on left is the new bus station entrance. 01:35 Left here takes you into the public car park. If you park in the public car park you then have to walk towards Matlock Railway Station, cross the new footbridge there and then walk down to Sainsbury's (a good five minutes walk) 02:02 Turn left here to get to Sainsbury's car park. 02:18 Right at new round-a-bout onto Bakewell Road 03:25 Riber Castle can be seen perched on the hill ahead. 03:41 Right at Crown Square onto Snitterton Road over the river Derwent 03:52 This bridge is one way (No right turn!) 04:15 Left onto Dale Road (A6) to Matlock Bath 05:44 The 6 spots you can se in the air is cable cars of Heights of Abraham : http://www.heightsofabraham.com/ 06:20 Matlock Bath 06:55 Leaving Matlock Bath, heading towards Cromford.
