This video demonstrates the power of You Tube. We left St. Louis on Friday May 22 heading to Memphis. On the way,we remembered a video we had seen a few days before on YT called Bluegrass in Collierville.We decided to go see the town since it was only 30 miles from Memphis and the video said they had bluegrass every Friday on the Town Square. I am so glad we did. What a cool town! Sure enough, at six O'clock people started showing up with all the necessary tools to make a joyful noise. Guitars, Banjos, Harps,Fiddles, you name it, it was there. In no time at all there were several little bluegrass circles forming, some folks were just learning to play, while others were seasoned pros. It didn't seem to matter which category a person fell into, all were welcome. I even sat in with a bunch of nice folks who really knew how to play. Even though they didn't know "Glendale Train" ,within a few bars everyone was on board. We went back to the bus to get more instruments and jam on, but decided since the water pump was leaking and it was getting dark we better just go. We went to Graceland RV park and had our own little bluegrass circle, but it wasn't as good as Collierville. I sure hope to get back there soon.
