Late Night Date Night on Amtrak

My wife had never traveled on Amtrak, so when she had a vacation over the same week we'd be taking our son to Cleveland's Lakefront Station (to catch the westbound Capitol Limited,) I looked for a necessarily cheap destination for US. I discovered that as long as "our son's" train was running on (or nearly on) time, we could ride it to its next stop in Elyria ~ and then ride right back to Cleveland on the eastbound Lake Shore Limited! When she agreed to stay up all that night and cheerfully risk "getting stuck in Elyria for as much as a day," my wife and I had a date! ...And oh yeah, ...everything went perfectly!

 | 12 Hour Late Amtrak 30 With NS Engines Leading Amtrak Capitol Limited 30, which is originally scheduled to arrive in nearby Elyria, OH at 1:25 am, passes through Amherst around 1:30 pm, about 12 hours late.
