Battalion Chief 3 (Scheirer) was in command at a reported fire on the second floor of the Lehigh County Court House when a box was transmitted for 205 N. 28th St. in the deep west-end for a house fire. Ride-a-long with the battalion enroute to a house fire. Engine 9 first-in reported a fire in the basement. After investigating, Engine 9 advised the responding companies the fire was out and ordered a fire marshall to the scene. Companies responding on the box were Engines 9,11,14, truck 1 and battalion 3. A fan was set-up at the front door to ventilate a light smoke condition in the house. The home owner was advised that the power company would pull the electrical meter and that an electrician would have to be called in to make repairs to the service.

08.23.08 - House Fire, 817 N. Leh St. Allentown PA (part2)
At 13:02 the box was transmitted for 817 N. Leh St. for a house fire. Engines 10,9,4, 1 truck and battalion 3 (Scheirer) were assigned. Engine 10 reported smoke showing and upon investigating found a fire in the basement. A hand-line was stretched into service. EMS was on scene for one civilian injury. The box was held to the first alarm assignments. The fire marshall's office is investigating.
Allentown 3rd Alarm Apartment Fire
In the morning hours of February 21, 2008 Allentown firefighters where sent to 210 North 5th Street for the reported apartment fire. Upon arrival BC 4 quickly called it a working fire and with in minutes requested the second alarm. As firefighters operated the scene and conditions worsened a 3rd alarm was requested bringing in all available equipment in the city. Friday the 13th newsworking was stationed at the central fire station in Allentown, where Engine Co. 9, Engine Co. 4 and Battalion 3 are housed. This video shows Engine 4 responding for an alarm system activation at 1101 Hamilton St. The evening didn't hold up to the "Friday the 13th" reputation. We'll try again on another day.
