A one to two-year-old harp seal is released Tuesday, February 12, 2008 on Blue Shutter Beach in Charlestown, R. I. The Mystic Aquarium and Institute for Exploration rescued the male seal from Napatree Point in Watch Hill, R. I.

This harp seal had rocks in his stomach when he was rescued in March. Doctors from Westerly Hospital did two endoscopic procedures to remove some of the rocks. This is his release at about 8:15 am Friday, Aug. 1

On Feb. 12, 2008 two Harp Seals (#001 and #002) were released by the University of New England's Marine Animal Rehabilitation Center at Granite Point in Biddeford, Maine.
