"Omega Concern" - Original Song
Description:
"Omega Concern" is an original song dedicated to Rush, my favorite band of all time. The composition was written back in 1997 (when I was 21 years old), and I recently created lyrics and sang over it. The song is simply about a man who ponders the Omega Point as termed by Prof. Frank J. Tipler and somehow invents a device that allows him to travel to and immerse himself with the Tiplerian Omega Point, the point at which the universe will one day end and collapse into a singularity. I originally gave the composition its name as Rush has dedicated its 1980s albums to it (see below for what it really is). The song has many elements of a typical progressive Rush song, including complex song structure, unusual chord progressions and unusual time signature and changes. The Omega Concern is a non-profit started by Alex Lifeson to sell his invention, the Omega Stand (a stand that holds his acoustic guitar in an adjustable playing position). It's a different kind of song than what I'm used to putting up on YouTube, but I hope you all like it :). Song: Sean Chapin
