 | hiroshige - ukiyo-e master Utagawa Hiroshige was born in 1797. He was a contemporary of the other great artist Hokusai.His most celebrated works were the series 36 Views of Mount Fuji, The 53 Stations of the Tokaido and 100 famous Views of Edo. In 1856 he retired from the world and became a Buddhist monk. He died in 1858 in the great cholera epidemic of Edo. The music here is a piece called Radio Gagaku, played by Forgotten Fish Memory Orchestra. |
