 | Union Pacific mixed freight This Union Pacific train was caught a little to the SW of Centralia, WA. I have never railfanned in this area, and just happened to find this crossing by chance. It's a great spot, very quiet, and was relly easy to hear approaching trains. The train was going very slow, and I have no idea why, didn't hear anything on the scanner, so I assume it was a red or yellow signal down the track. |

 | 3985 Union Pacific: Chicago to Milwaukee (Part 1) June 15, 2002: UP #3985 makes a highly publicized run from Chicago to Milwaukee. Currently, 3985 is the largest active steam locomotive in the world. This trip was hard to keep up. 3985 was running up to 75 miles per hour and Chicago/Milwaukee traffic made it nearly impossible to chase. This trip was highly publicized and fight broke out a moments notice. Many ordinary people did not understand the rules of railfanning and therefore numerous shots were less than ideal. Enjoy. |
