Rothley Station on Easter Day 2009
The Main purpose of this video was to test out my new tri-pod I got as an Easter gift. So I had no choice really but to go to the Great Central Railways Award Winning Station at Rothley during a wet and miserable Easter Day and Tank Engine Gala/Walking Festival. In the video we see visiting Ivatt Tank No.41241 from the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway pulling in with the 11.03 departure from Leicester North, after that has departed, we see ex.GWR Large Prairie No.4141 pulling in from ...
GNR N2 No.1744 First Moves!
Newly overhauled N2 No.1744 made its first run up the Great Central Railway for the first time in 10 years on Wednesday 27th May 2009. After two days of running about in Loughborough Station Yard it is seen venturing out of Loughborough Central Station and up towards Leicester North. No.4744 is going to be painted in GNR Apple Green as opposed to the previous BR Black livery it wore before its mandatory 10 year overhaul. Filming this was a bit of luck, we drove over the GCR by my request on ...

Great Central Tank Gala 11-120409
The Great Central Tank Gala featured GWR Prairie 4141's swansong - her last appearance on the railway before overhaul. She was joined by Ivatt 41241 from the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway and N7 69621 from the North Norfolk Railway. Recently restored N2 tank 69523 narrowly failed to make the Gala as did the Lakeside & Haverthwaite's Fairburn tank which is undergoing repairs. The former appears briefly in the yard.
