Title:
Shirley Bassey & Neil Diamond PLAY ME & SING

Description:
The 1974 BBC-Shirley Bassey show. Part 5: It is amazing to see the BBC-shows and what they made Shirley do: she sang in planes, boats, cars, rockets airballoons on waterskis, on a horse and even on a tandem. Behind the scenes story for this clip with Neil Diamond: After the recording of the duet with Neil Diamond, Shirley was supposed to meet a friend for drinks. But after the show her friend had left and Shirley later asked her why she did and she said: 'You two looked so very much in love that I decided to leave you alone'. Shirley was very surprised and said to her: 'I was just admiring his beautiful diamond necklace'. Lyrics Play me: (written by Neil Diamond) She was morning And I was night time I one day woke up To find her lying Beside my bed I softly said Come take me For Ive been lonely In need of someone As though Id done Someone wrong somewhere I dont know where Come lately You are the sun I am the moon You are the words I am the tune Play me Song she sang to me Song she brang to me Words that rang in me Rhyme that sprang from me Warmed the night And what was right Became me You are the sun I am the moon You are the words I am the tune Play me And so it was That I came to travel Upon the road That was thorned and narrow Another place Another grace Would save me You are the sun I am the moon You are the words I am the tune Play me. Lyrics Sing: (written by Richard Caprpenter and from the 1975 album 'Good bad but beautiful') Sing, sing a song Sing out loud Sing out strong Sing of good things not bad Sing of happy not sad. Sing, sing a song Make it simple to last Your whole life long Don't worry that it's not Good enough for anyone Else to hear Just sing, sing a song. Sing, sing a song Let the world sing along Sing of love there could be Sing for you and for me. Sing, sing a song Make it simple to last Your whole life long Don't worry that it's not Good enough for anyone Else to hear Just sing, sing a song.
