 | Water Drop Coordination over SoCal Fires LA Co Fire Dept Helicopter Command radio communication with water dropping choppers and super scooper planes. This was recorded 10/23/07 just after noon. With fires burning all across So Cal this fire broke out in the Newhall Pass just north of LA. Hel Co is the chopper flying high above the fire coordinating the drops. Quebec 1 & 2 are the super scooper planes loaned to LA County from Canada. Pilots voices have Canadian accents. |

 | California Wild Fire Tanker Operations 30 August 2009 I wanted to post this video taken from my house near Lancaster Ca. Most of the fire fighting aircraft are flying out of Fox Field and I live just 2 miles from and almost directly in line with the runway. We have been watching the brave crews of the fire bombers flying over our house the last couple of days at a rate of one aircraft every five to ten minutes.
