Flamingo Gardens Everglades Wildlife

Description:
Flamingo Gardens Everglades Wildlife Sanctuary There are a lot of people who dont even know about Flamingo Gardens and it is a real shame. This quaint Botanical Gardens and Wildlife Sanctuary lies in the town of Davie, Florida. One of the best kept secrets around, this tropical paradise is home to many species of animals and plants. It was once home to pioneers Floyd L. Wray and his wife Jane. It is a historical site and museum. Originally planted by Mr. And Mrs. Wray, the garden displays a large variety of flora that includes many champion trees. Travel through the dense tropical rainforest, hardwood hammock, wetlands and groves when you take a ride on the narrated tram tour. Walk among two hundred year old oaks or stroll through the arboretum and be amazed by the gigantic trees. A lot of people spend all day in the everglades looking for wildlife and usually see very little. At Flamingo Gardens Everglades Wildlife Sanctuary its one stop. You will be introduced to more than 70 species of animals. Most of the wildlife is native and has been injured or misplaced whereas it cannot survive in the wild. Some animals are there for breeding and propagation programs such as the endangered Woodstork and threatened Roseate Spoonbill. You can walk through the aviary that is home to 43 species of florida native birds and a menagerie of turtles and tortoise. You can hand feed the Roseate Spoonbills, Ibis, Ducks and the newest residents well, theyre a bunch of Turkeys. Interested about Birds of Prey? Come eye to eye with an eagle, hang out with the hawks, make friends with a falcon and give a hoot for the owls while youre there too. More than 73 of these injured raptors call Flamingo Gardens their home. There are Panthers on the prowl, Bobcats in the bushes, Otters in the water, Alligators in the lagoon and of course, friendly Flamingos! There is always so much to see at Flamingo Gardens you will want to become a member so you can enjoy its changes year round. It is also a great place to bring relatives and friends when they come to visit. So get out there, explore and take a walk on the wild side.

Florida Wildlife
A song by Dale Crider called "The last live photo" inspired me to put together this video. As a fellow wildlife lover and photographer this song is very close to home. Thank you Mr. Crider for allowing me to use your beautiful lyrics and music to accompany my pictures. Hopefully, through conservation and preservation, there will be many more photos of these beautiful animals to come.
